Chilled vs Ambient Storage: What’s the Difference?

At Edwards Transport, we offer industry-leading temperature-controlled warehouse solutions tailored to your specific needs. Our facilities provide the ideal environment for temperature-sensitive products, maintaining and protecting their quality throughout the cold chain. Specialising in the dairy industry, in particular the cheese sector, we deliver storage solutions that match your requirements.

Whether the goods require a chilled environment or maturation temperatures we ensure the right conditions are maintained at all times. Each option offers distinct benefits depending on the product type.

Chilled storage

Edwards Transport offers chilled storage facilities in the temperature range of 2-5˚C which is normally used for continental cheeses and butter, however this facility is also available for other goods such as cheddar should that be required.

Maturation Storage

Maturation temperatures are used, as the name implies, to facilitate the controlled maturation of cheese, normally cheddar, to the point where it is graded and passed as ready for moving out to processors and packers.
